Australian food company SPC Ardmona has said it has completed its A$51m (US$35.2m) acquisition of fruit jam maker Henry Jones IXL.

On 12 May SPC Ardmona announced its plans to buy the Henry Jones business, which makes fruit spreads, snacks and sauces, from US-based food company JM Smucker.
The Henry Jones business is located in Kyabram, in Victoria’s Goulburn Valley, and is close to SPC Ardmona’s existing manufacturing sites at Shepparton and Mooroopna.
Henry Jones manufactures and markets the IXL, Allowrie and Glen Ewin brands in the fruit spreads category where it is Australia’s leading manufacturer. The company also makes IXL fruit snacks and Taylor’s specialty sauces and marinades. The business has annualised sales of around $60m.
