The price hikes are a result of the extensive flooding across northern areas of New South Wales and Queensland, and supermarkets, wholesalers and consumers all face increased costs for the commodities.


Moraitis Wholesale, based in NSW, has suggested that tomatoes and broccoli could reach A$6 per kilogram, while cabbages could fetch A$8 each.
