A spokesman for the supermarket operator told the Australian Financial Review that the company was continuing to assess potential sites for at least two other regional distribution centres in Queensland and Victoria.

“We’re gradually working our way across the country,” the spokesman told the newspaper.

The spokesman said the strategy was part of a plan to streamline Woolworths’ national distribution chain, which will involve reducing the number of the retailer’s major warehouses across the country from 30 to 11, reported AAP.
