Belgian frozen vegetable group Ardo has completed the acquisition of Austria Frost.
While a spokesperson for Ardo declined to reveal the financial details of the transaction, the company emphasised that the deal will add EUR40m (US$50.6m) per annum in revenues.
“The acquisition extends our footprint in the Austrian market and provides a platform to further expand our activities in central Europe,” a spokesperson for the company told just-food.
In a statement, the company said that the production unit of Ardo Austria Frost is well positioned in the middle of Marchfeld, a fertile growing area on the banks of the Danube.
“Thanks to Ardo Austria Frost’s wide product range of fresh frozen products and its packaging technologies, this take-over will add further value to Ardo’s existing portfolio,” the company added.
