One in every three “fasching” doughnuts tested by police food inspectors were found to have less than the mandatory 15% jam content. A spokesman said that in the doughnuts of one manufacturer, the jam content was only 10.3%, reported Ananova.com.


Police said that having less jam in a doughnut than the required amount constituted fraud, and carries a penalty of a fine or even a prison sentence of up to three months.
