Bakkavor, the UK-based private-label supplier, is looking to employ 40 staff in domestic, full-time roles to meet “growing demand” for its soups and sauces.

The company said it was looking to fill positions at its factory in Spalding in eastern England.

Vacancies at the site are for roles in cooking, filling, working in the site’s spice room and positions in dispatch and hygiene. The roles involve day and night shifts.

Werner Bezuidenhout, head of HR at Bakkavor’s meals business, said: “This is an exciting period for our business. The diverse range of roles we have available provides people in the local area with a great opportunity to work in the fast moving and exciting fresh prepared foods industry. We are looking for people with a can-do attitude to join our friendly team across day and night shifts with a range of skills and experience.”

Last month, Bakkavor reported an acceleration in its like-for-like sales in the second quarter, which supported increasing half-year sales and profits.
