US snack maker Barnana has secured investment from venture capital fund Boulder Food Group.

The scale of the investment was not disclosed but Barnana said the cash injection would be used to fund distribution expansion, product innovation and consumer marketing.

“We are excited to start the year off with great partners that understand the vision and align on the values to fuel our next stage of growth," Barnana CEO and founder Caue Suplicy said.

Barnana's organic, gluten-free, non-GMO line of Chewy Banana Bites are available at Whole Foods Market, Safeway, Sprouts Farmers Market and Wegmans stores. The company said two new products are in the works: apple cinnamon Barnana and coffee Barnana.
