Belgian retailer Colruyt confirmed today (28 July) that it has purchased a stake in Belwind, Belgium’s off shore wind farm.

The company has acquired a 26.9% share for an undisclosed sum, a spokesperson confirmed to just-food.
The wind farm comprises of 55 turbines with a combined capacity of 165 megawatts.
Construction on the project will begin this summer and it is scheduled to be ready by the end of next year or by early 2011, the company said.
