The company, which does most of its business in the US, said it will open a city store in Aix-la-Chapelle, Germany in October, followed by openings in Athens, Bucharest and Prague by the end of the year.
Delhaize already operates larger supermarkets in Germany, Greece, Romania and the Czech Republic.
The company currently operates ten city shops in Belgium and plans to increase that number to 14, reported Dow Jones News.
