Belgian retail group Colruyt has said that its French subsidiary Pro A Pro Distribution has acquired food distribution firm Galland.

Galland, based in Gap (Hautes-Alpes), is a distribution company active in the food services sector as well as in the retail sector. In the financial year 2003, Galland posted a turnover of €6.6m (US$8.2m).


Colruyt said the takeover of Galland fits perfectly within Pro A Pro Distribution’s strategy of becoming a national partner for catering businesses.


The company said the takeover is also in line with its strategy of further developing its retail activities under the Coccinelle and CocciMarket banners.
