Belgian retail group Colruyt has announced that its French holding company Pro A Pro Distribution has signed an agreement for the acquisition of 100% of the shares of Dijon-based S.A. Roret.
Colruyt said Roret is a distribution company active in the foodservice sector, with turnover of €7m (US$9.2m) in fiscal 2003.
“The acquisition of Roret fits perfectly with the strategy of Pro A Pro Distribution, which consists of becoming a national partner for social and commercial catering by means of a network of independent, specialised companies,” the Belgian company said.
This is the latest in a series of acquisitions by Colruyt aimed at expansion in the French market; the company acquired Group Mallet on 1 July 2004 and S.A.S. Galland on 30 September 2004.
