Belgian food group Ter Beke has recorded a 3% increase in turnover for the first quarter of 2010.
In a trading update released today (7 May), Ter Beke said that the turnover growth will be reflected in its first-half results.
In February, Ter Beke started to build a value-added logistics platform in Nijmegen in the Netherlands. the firm said. By the end of the year, the group’s logistics base and slicing and packaging will be based there.
“As of the end of 2010, all of the group’s logistic activities for The Netherlands will be centralised there, as well as the slicing and packaging activities that are currently operated in Milsbeek,” Ter Beke said.
The company said it will continue to invest in its ‘Come a casa’ ready meals brand through promotion campaigns which began last month, alongside its revamped pasta meals range.
“The group is confident that it can maintain the growth in both divisions and that the improvement of the results in 2009 will, save for unexpected circumstances, be continued in 2010,” Ter Beke said.
