Italy-based FMCG giant Bolton Group has acquired a majority stake in Spanish seafood company Garavilla from private-equity firm MCH and investment fund Investment Portfolio Dularra.

In an announcement on its website, Garavilla said as the Garavilla Bolton Group, the company would build on the current management team to "strengthen business expansion and reamain commited to the growth of the group's brands".

Garavilla, based in Mundaka, Spain, manufactures and markets canned fish in Europe, Latin America and North Africa. Some of its brands include Isabel and Cuca.
