Bolton Group, the Italy-based consumer goods company that owns tuna brands including Rio Mare and Saupiquet, is to work with the WWF to make its sourcing of the fish more sustainable.

The WWF said it wanted to “improve the sustainability” of Bolton Group’s “business practices”, with a goal for the company to in eight years buy 100% of its tuna from fisheries certified by the UK-based Marine Stewardship Council or “robust” Fishery Improvement Projects “aimed at becoming eligible for MSC certification”.
