Brazilian retailer CBD has booked a jump in second-quarter sales on the back of last year’s Ponto Frio acquisition and underlying growth.
The company yesterday (14 July) posted a 39.4% rise in net sales to BRL6.98bn (US$3.95bn) for the three months to the end of June.
Excluding the contribution from the Ponto Frio business acquired last June, net sales rose 12.7%, CBD said.
The retailer’s same-store gross sales rose 9.9% or 4.6% when inflation is not included in the numbers. Nominal same-store net sales were up 11.3%.
