BULGARIA: Extension of duty free export quotas to EU markets
The duty free export quota for Bulgarian cheese, apples and tomatoes will be increased from July this year, according to a statement by the agriculture ministry. The European Union has decided to increase Bulgaria's cheese quota to 5,800 tonnes a year from 5,500 tonnes. Agricultural producers have also secured increased access to European markets with apples and tomatoes. The annual apple quota was increased from 1,125 tonnes to 1.525 tonnes, and annual tomato exports will now increase to 6,350 tonnes from 6,250 tonnes.
