There will be a one-month grace period for retailers before the ordinance is fully observed, but from that point food industry players will face first offence fines of between 250 levs and 500 levs.


The implementation of the ordinance across the country will be enforced by representatives from the Department of State Veterinary and Sanitary Control Hygiene and Epidemiological Inspectorate.
