Campbell Soup Co. has announced it is reformulating its line of Healthy Request soups in Canada to exclude the use of preservatives.

The Healthy Request soups are available in six variants and will contain no preservatives or artificial flavours.

The soup giant pledged earlier this year it would remove artificial colours and flavours from its North American portfolio by the end of 2018 to deepen its appeal to consumers.

"Campbell's Healthy Request is a really important part of an even more open and transparent Campbell's," said Moya Brown, VP of marketing at Campbell Company of Canada . "Healthy Request brings to life our commitment to real food, highest quality ingredients, and great taste, all shared with Canadian consumers in an open and transparent way.

"Campbell Canada also plans to take steps to provide consumers with a wide range of information about our products – from the ingredients we use to how and where our food is made. This information will be available on www.whatsinmyfood.ca, set to launch in November."

Campbell's Healthy Request soups are available at retailers across Canada including Sobeys, Safeway, Loblaws, Walmart, Metro, etc. for C$3.29 (US$2.51).
