Canada-based convenience chain Alimentation Couche-Tard has booked a 28% jump in quarterly profit as acquisitions over the last 12 months boosted sales.
Couche-Tard, which operates over 5,600 stores across North America, saw operating profit reach US$117.4m for the three months to 22 July. Net sales climbed 25% to $3.6bn.
“The company-operated stores acquired during the last 12 months are already profitable and they have yet to reach their full potential,” said chairman, president and CEO Alain Bouchard.
Some 80% of Couche-Tard’s revenues come from the US, where it operates in 29 states.
