Vancouver-based Burcon NutraScience Corporation has appointed Stuart D. MacGregor to its board of directors.
MacGregor is the first addition to the board since Burcon’s acquisition of BMW Canola, now Burcon NutraScience (MB) Corp., in October 1999. He has over 23 years of investment banking and financial management experience. Currently he is president of Gradon Enterprises.
Previously MacGregor was a partner of Polar Capital Corporation, a Toronto-based investment partnership firm.
“Burcon has progressed to the stage of actively investigating opportunities for strategic alliances within the food and agri-business industries,” said Allan Yap, chairman of Burcon’s board, adding: “MacGregor’s combination of professional experience, business relationships and investment banking background will be a valuable asset to our board as we evaluate potential partnerships.”
