The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has re-issued the advisory of 15 January on the undeclared presence of milk protein in Grimm’s Sizzlin’ Bavarian Smokies, as the product may still be in the marketplace.
The affected product packages may contain Cheese Flavoured Smokies that are not declared on the label.
Grimm’s Sizzlin’ Bavarian Smokies are distributed in Alberta and British Columbia and sold in a 450g package. The identification codes “Best Before JA 29,” and “EST 226” are stamped on the plastic film. The UPC is 0 55898 15190 7.
Grimm’s Fine Foods Ltd. is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace because consumption may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to milk protein. There have been no reported illnesses associated with the product as yet.
