The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning the public not to consume Amore and Tiffany brand fresh pasta entrees as they may be contaminated with Staphylococcus bacteria.

  6. Tiffany Gate Foods brand, Lasagna with Mushrooms, 3 kg, Best Before including and up to 01 OC 09, UPC 0 72324 07530 9.
  7. Tiffany Gate Foods brand, Cannelloni, 3 kg, Best Before including and up to 01 OC 16, UPC 0 72324 00193 3.
  8. Tiffany Gate Foods brand, Manicotti, 3 kg, Best Before including and up to 01 OC 09, UPC 0 72324 00232 9.

Tiffany Gate brand products may also have been sold in smaller retail portions under store labels in various retail stores. Consumers are advised to contact retailers to determine if they have purchased affected products.


Pasta Amore Corporation, Woodbridge, Ontario manufacturer of Amore brand products and Tiffany Gate Foods, Toronto, Ontario are voluntarily recalling these products. These products may have been sold in Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.


Food contaminated with Staphylococcus bacteria may not look or smell spoiled. The toxin produced by Staphylococcus bacteria is not easily destroyed at normal cooking temperatures. Consumers should dispose of remaining product immediately, or return it to their point of purchase. Common symptoms of Staphylococcus poisoning are nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramping and fever. In severe cases, headache, muscle cramping and changes in blood pressure and pulse rate may occur.


The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is continuing with the investigation and is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
