Risk of pass-on infection is believed to be “very low”, but Toronto Public Health requested that Loblaws remove possibly contaminated produce and sanitise the store.
Health officials also urged patrons of the store to attend a free vaccination clinic. About 5,000 shoppers are expected to pass through the clinic.
“We didn’t expect quite so many people but we’re doing our best to accommodate everyone,” Dr Barbara Yaffe, Toronto’s acting medical officer of health, told The Canadian Press yesterday [Sunday].
