The group earned C$7.2m (US$6.8m) in the quarter, up 20.8% from the comparable period of last year when profits totalled C$6m.
Revenue edged up to C$127.5m, up from C$124.4,m.
“The growth in net sales mainly reflects increased market share, partly offset by higher trade spending,” Lassonde said.
Looking to the full year, the group said that while the economic outlook “appears to be improving”, lower commodity costs have resulted in “downward pressure” on net selling prices.
