Canadian food processor McCain Foods has reported C$5.8bn (US$4.7bn) in international consolidated net sales for the fiscal year ending 30 June 2004, a 2.5% increase over last year’s results.

“When the strengthening of the Canadian dollar is factored in, sales increased almost 6% in real terms year-over-year,” said McCain Foods president and CEO Dale Morrison.


“Most encouragingly, McCain experienced volume growth in every market,” he added.


McCain Foods chairman Allison McCain also voiced satisfaction with the company’s sales performance over the past year.


“Despite the many challenges facing food manufacturers we have been able to generate real growth and improved results. We continue to grow our business around the world by product innovation and appropriate acquisitions,” said McCain.
