Canadian retail group Metro Inc. has announced that the respective heads of its Ontario and Quebec divisions are to exchange roles.

The company has appointed Alain Brisebois, currently senior vice president of its Ontario business, as senior vice president of its Quebec division. Brisebois has been in his current role in Ontario since 2005.
Robert Sawyer, currently senior vice president of the Quebec business, will take Brisebois; role. Both appointments take effect from 3 January.
Metro Inc., which operates a network of around 600 supermarkets in Quebec and Ontario, said the reorganisation would allow it “to better meet the challenges of the competitive food retailing industry”.
