The new law would mirror the requirements of the Nutrition Labelling and Education Act (NLEA) in the US. This would mean that contents must be stated, and manufacturers must list fat, saturated fat, trans-fat, and cholesterol content; amounts of sodium, fibre, sugars, protein, vitamin A, vitamin C, calcium, and iron; and the number of calories. It has not yet been decided however if a serving size will be established, or if labels will need to be printed in a particular font and size.
