“Each of our divisions performed well,” said company co-founder and chief financial officer Darren Krissie, “with Planet Organic Markets showing the greatest growth.”

The company’s seven Planet Organic Markets full-service organic food stores generated revenues of $9.2m. This included a 17.9% increase in same-store sales from $6.7m to $7.9m, the company said.

Meanwhile, the company’s franchised Sangster’s Health Centre outlets recorded sales for the 13-week period of $4.3m, up from $3.9m in the same period last year. The increase was driven by the acquisition of the Newfound Health chain in August 2005. Same-store sales were up by 6.1%.

Sales at the company’s vitamin manufacturing division Trophic Canada rose by 7.9% to $1.6m.
