Canada’s Planet Organic Health Corp. has closed its deal to buy US natural products retailer Mrs Green’s Natural Market.

Planet Organic agreed to buy Mrs Green’s in March for around US$33.7m. The Canadian firm said last night (3 July) it has formed a new subsidiary, Planet Organic Holding Corp., to push through the transaction.


Mrs. Green’s Natural Market operates 11 stores in and around New York and Connecticut. Last year, it generated revenue of over US$38m and EBITDA of $3.9m.


Planet Organic operates eight natural food supermarkets throughout Canada under the Planet Organic Market banner. The company also runs 50 natural health outlets under the Sangster’s Health Centre banner and seven natural health outlets under the Healthy’s name.
