The plan at the Canadian RFID centre will use tags at case and pallet levels within existing supply chains between manufacturers and a retailer. Results will demonstrate RFID’s ability to reduce administrative time, increase product availability on shelves, and better temperature controls.

The objective is to help companies understand how RFID can drive profits while providing a foundation for industry guidelines and a model for retailers and suppliers to assess their own operations.

Participants include Loblaw Companies, Maple Leaf Foods, and the Canadian Council of Grocery Distributors.
