CANADA: Saputo to close Ontario plant, move Quebec production
Canadian dairy processor Saputo has said it plans to close a plant in its cheese division in Ontario and also plans to relocate some of the production of a Quebec plant.
Canadian dairy processor Saputo has said it plans to close a plant in its cheese division in Ontario and also plans to relocate some of the production of a Quebec plant.
Montreal-based Saputo said the move was part of its re-evaluation of its Canadian facilities. The company said 62 employees would be affected by the decision.
Saputo has forecast after-tax costs of C$1.1m (US$0.8m), and annual after-tax savings of $1.7m, reported Reuters.
