CANADA: Saskatchewan Organic Directorate files lawsuit against biotech multinationals
Saskatchewan Organic Directorate has introduced a lawsuit against biotech giants Monsanto and Aventis . The organization, which represents many of the certified organic grain farmers in Saskatchewan, detailed the claim at a news conference held in Saskatoon yesterday [Thursday] afternoon.

The lawsuit is claiming damages caused by the introduction of GE canola seeds. Secondly, the farmers are attempting to get a court injunction to prevent Monsanto from introducing genetically engineered wheat into the Saskatchewan region.
