The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning consumers with allergies to hazelnut not to consume Organic Semisweet Baking Chocolate sourced from Rapunzel Pure Organics, New York, US, as it may contain hazelnut which is not declared on the label.
The affected product has been sold in bulk or in various sized packages at the following establishments in British Columbia and Yukon:
3 Beans Natural Foods, Whitehorse, Yukon
Sold in white plastic containers labelled as Organic Semisweet Chocolate
Edible Island Whole Foods Market, Courtenay, BC
Organic Chocolate, 36.20 with the code EIORGCHOC under the bar code
Roots Natural Organic Foods, Maple Ridge, BC
Rapunzel Organic Semisweet Baking Chocolate in plastic bags

These retail establishments have voluntarily removed the affected product from sale. The affected product was voluntarily recalled from the marketplace by the distributor.
Consumption of the affected product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to hazelnut. There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.
