Canadian better-for-you food manufacturer GreenSpace Brands has brought in experienced executive Stuart Pasternak as its new chief financial officer (CFO).
He replaces Greg Guyatt, whose departure was revealed at the beginning of February when the loss-making company announced a strategic restructuring process that included the disposal of its Rolling Meadow Dairy brand and a reduction in its headcount.
The CFO role has since been filled by Cindy Leung, the company’s vice president of finance, on an interim basis.
In a 30-year career, Pasternak, who takes up the CFO role on Monday (27 May), has held senior finance and operational positions in both public and private companies of all sizes, including holding the titles of CFO, and VP business development in the last ten years.
GreenSpace’s brands include natural meat products range Life Choices, organic baby food range Love Child, “clean snacking brand” Central Roast and plant-based cheese range Go Veggie.
In February, the company announced it was selling the Rolling Meadow Dairy brand, excluding the associated egg business, to fellow Canadian business Agrifoods International Cooperative’s subsidiary Organic Meadow for CAD1.8m (US$1.4m).
