Brazil is to become the latest market for Cheerios, the breakfast cereal brand marketed by Cereal Partners Worldwide, the venture between Nestle and General Mills.

Cheerios is making its debut in Brazil with a honey variant – Cheerios Mel. The cereal is available now in Grupo Pão de Açúcar’s Extra and Pão de Açúcar stores in São Paulo.

From next month, the cereal will be on sale “in all major retail chains” in the state of São Paulo and in southern states, Nestle, which announced the launch, said today (17 March).

On-pack, Cereal Partners Worldwide is emphasising the cereal contains four types of whole grain – corn, wheat, rice and oats.

The suggested average price for a pack of Cheerios Mel is BRL8.99 (US$2.90), Nestle said.

Cereal Partners Worldwide’s range of cereals on sale in Brazil includes Corn Flakes, Snow Flakes, health-focused Nesfit and chocolate-based products marketed under its Nescau chocolate powder and Crunch chocolate brands.
