After 6 months of negotiations, Peruvian fast food operator Pardo’s Chicken is close to finalizing an agreement to open the first of a chain of restaurants in Chile. The fast food operator is expected to sign a contract with a Chilean company to open the restaurant as a franchise in July of this year, said Pardo’s marketing director Javier Lizarzaburu.


As an initial incentive for the restaurant chain’s debut, the Peruvian fast food chain will own 50% with the Chilean franchisee contributing only US$40,000 of the total US$250,000 investment required.


Pardo’s Chicken has been considering other international markets, especially the attractive markets of Ecuador, Bolivia, Panama and even the United States, where the franchise system dominates the fast food market.


Pardo’s Chicken, owned by the Yi Chang group, has eight restaurants in Peru. Its annual turnover is US$6m.
