Supermarket operator Dairy Farm International, the troubled owner of moribund Australian chain Franklins, is embarking on a new venture to generate some cash. For a monthly fee of HK$110, the Hong-Kong based company will freeze items of apparel made from real fur.

The general manager of Dairy Farm’s ice and cold storage business, Wyllie Lam, commented that the service is targeting a certain kind of consumer with a leafleting campaign. He explained that during the summer months: “Fur needs to be maintained in cold dry conditions.”
“Our storage is free of food odour,” he added, and furthermore, the item can be returned back to the owner’s front door.
Dairy Farm will need a day’s notice however, so that the item can defrost.
