German retailer Metro has announced plans to open a 41,500 sq m store in Dongguan in the southern Chinese province of Guangdong.

The new store represents a total investment of 100m-120m yuan (US$12-15m) and has been approved by the Ministry of Commerce.
Metro has already announced plans to invest US$300m to open 40 stores in China and has already opened 16 stores in cities in Shanghai, Nanjing, Wuhan, Changsha, Chengdu and Tianjin.
