Avebe, the world’s largest potato starch producer, has set up two factories in China.

Both factories are in Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province. They are called Yunnan AVEBE Runkai Agriculture Development Co., Ltd. and Yunnan AVEBE Starch Co., Ltd. Both are backed 51% Netherlands-based Avebe, and by local company Yunnan Runkai. Between them, the two companies have registered capital of US$9.1m.
The two new plants will focus primarily on potato raising and potato starch deep processing, reported SinoCast. They are expected to shop product to China and Southeast Asian countries. Output is anticipated at six million tons this year.
