US fastfood giant Yum! Brands has said it plans to continue its expansion in the Chinese market.

“As we go forward, this is a significant growth opportunity for our company, and is really the highlight of our international business, which is really the growth engine for Yum! Brands,” chairman and chief executive David Novak was quoted by Dow Jones News as saying.

Novak said Yum! Brands has been active in China for the last 15 years and currently has 1,000 KFC outlets, 120 Pizza Hut outlets and a new Taco Bell Grande there.

“We have the highest average unit volumes in China than we have anywhere in the world,” he said, adding that Yum! Brands is also considering expanding into Tibet.
