The facility produces chilled and frozen pork products.

Process engineering and information technology improvements have increased the plant’s annual production capacity by 37%, from 59,760 metric tons to 81,760 metric tons, the company said.

In a statement released today (27 August), Zhongpin said the higher capacity would help support its expansion into new markets for its chilled and frozen pork products.

The newly modernised plant in Changge and the plant currently under construction in Tianjin will enable Zhongpin to better serve northern China, including the affluent cities of Beijing, Tianjin, and Tangshan, the company said.
