Liangpinpuzi, a Chinese snack retailer, has launched a campaign to attract overseas snack makers to work in partnership with the group.

The company said that it wants to cater for the growth in demand for international snack items. Liangpinpuzi – or Bestore – operates a 1,710 store-chain and has a presence in online sales, with 37 different online channels. By the end of 2018, the group aims to have over 5,000 stores in China, covering 16 provinces. The group hopes its annual sales income “could break” CNY10bn (US$1.5bn).

Currently, international snack sales account for 9% or nearly CNY400m of its annual revenue, Liangpinpuzi revealed.

The group has opened a “giant display” in New York’s Times Square to reach out to international snack makers. Liangpinpuzi said it wants to “invite the global manufacturers and suppliers of high-quality snacks to jointly develop the Chinese snacks market”.
