ConAgra Foods has acquired US natural and organic frozen meal maker Blake's All Natural Foods for an undisclosed sum.

Family-owned Blake's makes frozen entrees such as pot pies, casseroles and pasta dishes. ConAgra described the business as "rapidly growing" but did not provide details of Blake's growth rate or annual sales. The company has 60 employees.

ConAgra said it would accelerate growth by expanding national distribution.

Sean Connolly, ConAgra Foods’ CEO, said: "We are thrilled to have Blake’s All Natural Foods join ConAgra Foods. Blake’s is a great addition to our existing frozen meals business and provides more choices to a growing group of people buying natural and organic foods. ConAgra Foods will help Blake’s grow and offer its wholesome food to more people across the country."

The acquisition has no impact on ConAgra's previously announced debt reduction targets, the company said.
