
John Gehring, the CFO of ConAgra Foods, is to leave the US group, the Chef Boyardee and Alexia owner announced today (24 May).
Gehring joined ConAgra in 2002 from Ernst & Young, taking a role as vice president of internal audit.
He became senior vice president and controller at the company two years later. In 2009, Gehring was named CFO after ConAgra moved then finance chief André Hawaux to lead its consumer foods division.
“This has been the most professionally rewarding experience of my career and I am proud of all that we have accomplished together over the past 14 years,” Gehring said today (24 May). “Looking ahead, I am confident that Sean [Connolly, ConAgra’s president and CEO] and the rest of the talented leadership team have positioned the company to win over the long-term and create value for all stakeholders.”
Connolly said ConAgra was “grateful for John’s many years of distinguished service to our company”. and added: “He has been an outstanding CFO, leader and friend. We wish him the best of luck in his next chapter.”
ConAgra said it started a search for its next CFO.
