Croatian supermarket firm Konzum has completed its €5.5m (US$5.4m) purchase of 21 grocery stores from bankrupt retailer Primorje in Makarska, southern Croatia.

The purchase, conducted through a public tender in the Commercial Court in Spilt, southern Croatia, fits in with Konzum’s strategy to expand in the southern part of the Adriatic province Dalmatia.
Company spokesperson Violeta Colic explained to the magazine Banka that Konzum is also planning to buy retailer Alastor in eastern Croatia, from businessman Mato Skojo.
