A class of phytochemicals derived from sugar cane wax and other plant sources have also been shown by a series of animal and human clinical trials to have other anti-inflammatory, antiviral and neuroprotective properties.


The phytochemicals consist of long-chain aliphatic alcohols and their metabolites.
