Carrefour has reportedly launched its small format Express stores in Nicosia, Cyprus.
According to local reports, the company plans to have nine smaller stores in Cyprus by the end of the year.
However, when contacted by just-food, the French retailer was coy over details of the move.
“The group does not comment on its expansion plans at the moment,” a spokesperson for Carrefour said.
However, the company confirmed its commitment to the market, where it has operated larger format hypermarkets since 2007.
