Czech antitrust authorities have approved the acquisition of a majority stake in dairy cooperative Moravskoslezske Mlekarny, which owns the Mlekarna Kunin dairy company, by French dairy group Lactalis.

The regulator said that the deal would not create a monopoly. Lactalis announced its move for Mlekarny in July.
Based in Ostrava, Mlekarna Kunin processed more than 100m litres of milk last year, generating revenues in excess of EUR66m (US$89.9m).
