Darigold, the marketing and processing arm of the US, farmer-owned Northwest Dairy Association, wants to double its number of international markets.

The company is creating an overseas sales, service and distribution network, opening offices in Mexico City, Singapore and Shanghai. The business said it “expects to expand to more countries soon”.

Darigold supplies a range of dairy products into around 20 markets and sees that growing to “40 or more countries in the near future”.

More than 40% of Darigold’s farm milk production goes into export products and the company expects that to “surpass 50% in the coming years”, it added, again without providing a time-frame.

“We are excited to expand with new in-house international capabilities and better serve our customers worldwide through a direct network,” Stan Ryan, the president and CEO of the Seattle-based Darigold, said. “With an expanded global team, Darigold can fully realise the potential of providing north-west dairy products’ unique sustainability, quality, nutrition and taste to the world.”
