Danish ingredients giant Danisco has concluded an agreement with the newly established Bähncke A/S for the takeover of Danisco Foods´ business in Skælskør, Denmark, effective 30 April 2002.

Bähncke A/S is owned by Erling Eskildsen and Erling Lindahl, through BLM Foods, and by KLI Invest. Morten Mortensen and Kaj Lykke Iversen are behind KLI Invest and will in future make up the board of directors in Bähncke A/S.
The products included are mustard, ketchup, dressings, mayonnaise-based salads and sauces, under well-known brands, such as Bähncke, UG and Arfmanns. The sale price, which both parties have expressed satisfaction with, will not be made public.
Bähncke A/S will continue to focus on the well-known brands for the catering and retail markets. The factory in Skælskør employs 130 people.
The sale reinforces Danisco´s business strategy of focusing on development, production and sales of food ingredients, sweeteners and sugar.
